This painting is the illustration for the dust jacket to the book We Believe . . . Bear Bryant's Boys Talk, written by Mike Bynum. As is the case in such illustrations, the content of the book dictates the theme of the painting.  The book contains insights from some of Coach Byrant's greatest players at Texas A&M, Kentucky, and Alabama. Among these are "Babe" Parilli, #10; Lee Roy Jordan, #54; Joe Namath, #12; Johnny Musso, #22; and John David Crow, #44. These young men all played their part in "the making of a legend."
